Fire prevention materials
Not sure if this is the right place or not, but does anyone know of a way to fund a small fire prevention program? I have been trying to get a fire prevention program started in my area since we have a grade school in our coverage area and looking for ways to fund it. also if anyone knows of anywhere that donates materials besides usfa i would love to know.

State Farm agents also have handouts sometimes, as do Fireman's Fund agents. FM Global also runs a Fire Prevention grant program, few thousand is the average award from them.

Start for free. Squirt water, foam, master stream. Let kids play with booster line. Let them listen to a smoke alarm activation. Stop, Drop & Rock,n,Roll. Dress up like a fireman with all the gear. Thats how to start a prevention program for grade schools and it will hardly cost you anything. Work up from there.

elk1544, may I first suggest that you "assess" what the level of knowledge currently is. put together a test with help of some of the teachers and see where your kids and seniors knowledge level is. Then design your program around those results. FP&S grant from FEMA will work with you to fund what you need but, you have to "justify" the problem first. Get your facts together first, the rest is easy.Kurt Bradley
