Tacoma Fire Update

I was told by someone in HR at Tacoma that the eligibility list for 2008 has been extended. Anyone hear additional info on hiring for 2011?

... I heard through the rumor mill the city is close to a decent retirement program for senior firefighters which should free up the funding for up to 60 new hires. The reason for the long delay is the current retirement program (left 2) is so poor no one wanted to retire due to poor medical coverage for retirees. The city had to be shown on paper that giving the senior firefighters a decent retirement package would save them more money than they pay in overtime and officer wages, which would free up the funding for the 50 to 60 new hires.

jkintac77 did you score well on the test and receive a high ranking? I know Tacoma ranks in bands so it is impossible to know the individual ranking.

I just received a letter today from Tacoma fire for an invite to the practice PAT. Does anyone know when the actual PAT will be held or if there will even be one at all?
