    Default Allowance for 75' Quint

I didn't see any cost allowance info from 2009 or 2010 for a 75' quint.

However, received 10Q's yesterday for $565,000 with no reduction. Will re-post with the final amount when the award comes through.

$600K was about right last year, maybe $650k depending on config with pump/tank, etc.

You're starting to worry me about the price now. I spoke to comm shop when I was writing and that is what he told me. They use a UHF to VHF repeater if I recall. It's a replacement for a 20+ year old one so most of the ground work is done, only have to swap bases I think.

No, don't worry about it. For a crossband repeater, it sounds pretty fair - unless you are looking at 100 watt continious duty.

    Default Sprinkler Sysytem cost reduction

We got a fairly substancial cost reduction today on our proposed Sprinkler System for two fire stations. Looking for any guidance on how to negotiate a different cost.

Negotiate with who, AFG or the vendor?

Was not sure if it would be possible to discuss the award amount with FEMA, Our estimate is way over what they are offering.

So it sounds like they gave you a reduction. There are a lot of variables here that would need to be clear to tell you if you have a chance at asking to have funding restored. Give me a call at 863-551-9598 and I will be glad to discuss that with you and what you should do.

only way you're going to do it is with multiple estimates as well as copies of prior jobs completed by the same contractors. also need to show the fair wage pricing on the job which is the per hour rates we're forced to use on government jobs, just like everyone had to do on station grants. sorry for the slow response, at the in-laws in puerto rico for the holiday, not the best connection across the phone broadband.
