In a few weeks I will start my fire 1, 2, and Hazmat class. I was woundering what goes into these classes. It is a 9 mounth class, and it consists of a wednesday 4 hr class and every other weekend practical training. I was woundering how the classes work, as far as homework wize, test wize, etc? Is it pretty much like a college class? I am trying to prepair for this as well as I can.

It is in CT. I was more woundering homework wise..and all. I Know there is going to be a lot of studying, but what about written homework etc. I kow one of the questions I had was use of a laptop for class and at home. I have a full time job and I feel as if I need to prepair as if i was going into a college class. I am trying to get a handel on what I am getting into. It starts in september so!

ok, now dont take this the wrong way, im just being straight with you:
you not knowing what your getting yourself into is kinda scary. hazmat is one thing, not very hard, just pay attention. but for your 1 & 2 class, you should have some sort of an idea of what it consist of and what is expected (get ahold of the course syllabus). there will be reading chapters/quiz, performance based skills practice/test. i dont think a laptop is going to give you an advantage.
as far as how your 'homework' (are we in hs?) is completed depends on how your academy... mine is read the chapters, take online quiz, every couple weeks have a written exam in class.
and its WONDERING, no u.

Throw out that computer that can't spell correctly and use proper grammer, as It's not helping you.

Get your books now and start reading NOW. Even though you have a week between classes, there is a LOT of reading. Most of the FF 1 & 2 books are around 1500 pages long. The more familiar you are with what the book says, the easier it will be to concentrate in class.
And as mentioned above, work on your spelling and grammar. You'll probably have to write a bunch of reports and can't be dependent on a computer to fix everything.
And don't know about the program, but it might very well be an academy type setting. Uniforms, inspections, some yelling, etc. I'd check into that too.
