    Default Hello world!

As you've probebly already guessed, I am a big fan of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I am also a Swede of Slovakian origin, 20 years old today (born -90) and living in the country with the world's(?) smallest firefighting units. In september I will go back to fire college. It will be on Sandö (meaning "Sand Island), a small Swedish island in the middle of Ångermanland River.

    ...

Yes I KNOW what "swede" means in British English!

"Swede" means rutabaga, a root that is commonly used in vegetable- and meat soups to enhance flavour. It has a very characteristic, spicy taste.

English slang-to get a "Smack in the swede"--receive a blow to the head--or a "Bang in the loaf" --Loaf=Loaf of bread-head
