The Best or worse place to have a wreck I guess depends on your point of view. For us it was good, in that it was across the road from the station. For the driver, it was bad, in that he was very intoxicated (.17 BAC) and he was across from State Highway Patrol Office which is attached to the Station and he was 1/4 mile down the road from the Police Dept. Long story short, he was not hurt, he went to jail, Police Dept. and the Sheriff's Office took care of traffic control and we cleared the scene fairly quick.

As the driver, I'd be worried about the police, but a lot more concerned with the fact that my car is sitting right next to the train tracks!
From the POV of the cops, at least there's that much less time to have the suspect barf in the back of my cruiser on the way back to the station.

If the driver wasn't hurt, than what came through the windshield?
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

My first thoughts, good to be in front of a fire station, bad to be sitting on the tracks. Law enforcement didn't even come to mind.

Driver said that he had only had three beers at the bar and was headed toward Cashiers which is 22 miles South. Only problem was he was heading North when he wrecked. You just got to love those in car cameras.

I'm impressed that your State Highway Patrol office is attached to the station. I can say with pretty much 100% confidence you would NEVER see that here!!
A Fire Chief has ONLY 1 JOB and that's to take care of his fireman. EVERYTHING else falls under this.

Before the car was towed, was it fully on the tracks?

He was probably mesmerized by that beautiful new station you got Bull. Looks damn good at night all lit up inside.

He could consider himself lucky he didn't hurt or kill anyone. Should also feel lucky that he did it in front of the fire station too.
Some people have all the luck.

My .02
Best place to have a MVA..... I'm thinking a roll-over into and onto the Playboy Complex, with a little fire, and a rescue of a Playmate. That might get ya an invite to dinner..... LOL.

Worst place..... I'm gonna go with Rosie O'Donnel's house.....
But Barbara Boxer's house is a very close 2nd.....

Worst place?? Where we were yesterday. Delivery van rolled off the highway near the edge of our response area, about 20 miles east of our station.
3pm, temps in the low 100's, no breeze, full turnout gear. It was brutal.
The only thing that would make it worse is if we stopped traffic and Rosie O'Donnel's limo was at the front of the line!!

My wise and profound comments and opinions are mine alone and are in no way associated with any other individual or group.
