The Georgia section of the forum doesn't seem to be very active, but I'm still hoping I can get some answers.
I'm interested in joining one of my local departments as a volunteer to get a taste of what it's like before I decide to turn it into a career. Thing is, unlike a lot of departments that tell you in their name("Blank" County Volunteer Fire Department"), I'm not sure which ones in the Atlanta/Decatur area accept and train volunteers. I've heard that a lot of the firehouses in Atlanta have turned completely career, but I don't know this for a fact.
If you work for or know of a department like this, please let me know. I'm very anxious to get started.
Thank you.
