i was going to put this into the thread about the E-One 137' Ladder but i cant seem to find it. My question is, why do you suppose they don't put these longer ladders on the tiller chassis instead? How come you only seem to find 100' tillers?

We replaced a 135 with a 100' tiller (only because at the time they weren't offering the 135 or the new 137) and of course I asked. The main reason was the OAL of the vehicle. The ladder itself is about 3 to 4 ft longer. Our 09 E-One tiller comes in at a little over 59'. Thats a big s.o.b. I have seen some tillers that come in closer to 65 ft. now your getting closer to 70 ft. granted they're maneuverable as hell, but people see that oal and panic. They said if asked they would consider it, but just have never been asked. It takes a little intelligence to enjoy humor, satire & wit, but none to be offended by it.
It take more than a new Leather Helmet to make you a good officer
