15 GRADUATE FROM RECRUIT FIREFIGHTER TRAINING AT STATE ACADEMY OF FIRE SCIENCE
State Fire Administrator Floyd A. Madison announced that 15 firefighters graduated from the Recruit Firefighter Training (RFFT) Program at ceremonies today held at the State Office of Fire Prevention and Control’s Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls. The graduates represent 11 fire departments from across the State and comprise the Academy’s 60th RFFT Class.
“I congratulate these 15 young men for their hard work and dedication in completing this arduous training program,” Madison said. “They have chosen a noble profession and calling to protect their friends and neighbors in their communities. I am proud to call each of them ‘Firefighter’.”
The RFFT class is 11 weeks long and represents more than 450 hours of intense training which meets and exceeds the provisions of the New York State standard for career probationary and non-permanent firefighters.
