You have to do a little research bro. This forum is a good place to start. To be on an eligibility list you need to go through a fire department hiring process. I am surprised that as a paramedic student you don't have the basics on the hiring process. This is a very competitive field and you need to get on the ball. Good luck to you.

I was 45 on the list when you did the last round of hiring. Do you have any clue where I would be now, I have no clue how many people got called last time.

its tough to say because there could be more than one candidate at a rank, meaning that there could be 3 people ranked #12, 2 people ranked # 20, and so on. But if you were ranked 45 before the last hiring then you definitely moved up. We hired 10 off of the first list, although we lost a couple. You could always call HR and see what kind of info you can squeeze out of them. They are usually very helpful as long as you don't call them 4 times a day every day. I yhink that you have an excellent chance of getting that phone call and alot of people are washed out in the psych test or the voice stress. Sweeeeeeet! You are going to love working for da Beach! If you already haven't, start running and doing stairs. You are very fortunate to be going through recruit training in the winter dude. Oh, what is your rank? Are you in the top 14? Again, congrats.

The beach is my top choice for depts to work for. I've heard stories about the training though hahha. Looking forward!

I'm not sure what rank I am now though. I asked but they weren't able to give me a number. But in 10 days I will find out via email what the next step is.

Well they called back 50 of us for 14 spots and expect a class to start around feb or march. We have to go through the background process again since it's been over 6 months.

They also talked about their academy and what we can expect.
