    Post Explorer Post Evaluation

Tonight we have a Search and Rescue class at one of our stations, but also we will be being evaluated by advisors of the Boys Scouts of America. This will be the first time we have been evaluated in my four and half years as an explorer. Has anybody else been evaluated on their post? If so, what do they look for or what happened with it? I didn't think the Fire Exploring Programs were under the BSA anymore?

    Thanks

    Cool Huh.....?

To my understanding they're not... It's now under Learning for Life.

Nope, never been evaluated you may want to contact LFL and yap with them.

    Default evaluation

we have been visited almost every year.....it is a question of numbers and commitment.....how many units is the evaluator assigned and how committed are they?

We are in a relatively surburan area of a major city - lots of units; so we get a short visit just to ensure we are keeping them in the loop about our activities.

I am sure if there is a great distance of travel involved and a lot of units - the professional scouter may not be able to hit every unit.

Explorers have always been under BSA but they were split into a subsidiary of BSA several years ago.

Learning for Life is a substidiary of BSA seperate from the traditional Scouting programs but is still under the purview of BSA.

Thanks for the replies. It went over well, like it was said in this thread, it was just to check numbers and commitment. The lady for BSA gave some adult applications to our instructors and applications for us explorers.
