Thumbs up America's Farmers Grow Communities Grant

My brother who is a Monsanto dealer alerted me to this last night.

The America’s Farmers Grow Communities Project is a program sponsored by the Monsanto Fund to support local farming communities. The program allows farmers to register to win $2,500 for their favorite community charity. It only takes about two minutes to apply for those farmers residing in one of 1,204 eligible counties in 38 states.

For every farmer who applies, Monsanto will donate $1 to their local United Way to help food banks, food pantries, Meals On Wheels and other charitable organizations dealing with hunger in their respective county.

So if you live in an eligible county and know a farmer that uses Monsato's products, here you go...

Nice program...bummer news, it's not available in my county. Good luck elsewhere!

    Thumbs up Good Deal

I'm gonna send out an email to whoever I have in my address book that lives in my county. Hopefully our department is named, but if not; at least it will go to another deserving organization and I know that by putting the word out I have helped just a little.

Just found out midweek also. I put the word out to our local community farmers and let everyone know that I was asking for their support, and if they couldn't give it to my department that there were many other deserving departments in our county also. I didn't get the phone call but our neighboring department did. At least it went to the fire service I guess.
