Of course, nothing fun can happen without someone suing over it...

And what exactly are they promoting ????
Can you imagine the uproar of a department showing up at a scene with a picture of a mostly naked really hot stripper / model like that on your helmet? Especially the women members of the department.
Just another way of them spending their non taxable $$$ in an improper way.
Kinda like HSUS filing a law suit because they lost 400k in a 15 million dollar offshore investment deal.
Thing that make you scratch your head.

If they want to display a non-sexist ad on our helmets, and pay us for the right, they need to contact me.
HSUS - I can't stand those idiots, but same thing - I am shameless in my pursuit of keeping my department running.

I wonder how PETA would react if their ad was placed on a leather helmet?

I'm pretty grossed out at the idea of ads on emergency vehicles or equipment, but if I were on a department with poor government support, maybe it would gross them out enough that they might cough up some money.
For example, if you want your city to buy you a new aerial and they refuse, tell them my product placement suggestions: Extenze on the fly section (because that makes it longer), Viagra on the hydraulic cylinders (because that raises it).
Now go order your aerial."Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”

I am extremely sorry for this department. I know a few of the guys and they were proud of what they had. They dd loose everything in that station.
Now if PETA was serious they would donate the money anyway. I would even bet that a sign or banner placed up for a period of time stating that "PETA donated $$$$ for xxxx" would be appropriate. And same would go for anyone else, HINT HINT HINT Pierce, Sutphen, E-One, Husrt, Amkus, Globe, Morning Pride, Bullard, etc. etc. etc. HINT HINT HINT.

It's not the idea that they wanted to make a donation to a department that is certainly deserving of assistance: It's how they wanted to do it in a way that many people would find offensive & sexist. All in the manner of promoting their political agenda.
