    Question Android App

I have made an android application that replaces the shift calendar, called Shift Adder. If you have an android phone this app will add your shifts to the phone calendar. You no longer have to keep a shift calendar or card around to schedule appointments. The shifts are added as all day events on your calendar for up to one year at a time. Right now it only supports the 24/48 shift schedule.

What other shifts do I need to incorporate? 24/72? 24on/24call/48off? Kelly Shift?

I have heard rumors of departments working this shift, but have not understood it.

I recognize the WOWOWOOOO, they use it at Rural Metro in Knoxville, TN. I am working on including it. I have not seen the other. Will work on it.

Our 8 day schedule is (2) 10 hr. days then (2) 14 hr. nights, with four days off.

    (WOWOOWOWOOOOOOOO)

Monday - Work 10 hr. day (8AM-6PM) - Off that night
Tuesday - Work 10 hr. day (8AM-6PM) - Off that night
    Wednesday - Off 10 hr. day - Work that night (6PM - 8AM)
    Thursday - Off 10 hr. day - Work that night (6PM - 8AM)
    Friday - Off 24 hr. day/night
    Saturday - Off 24 hr. day/night
    Sunday - Off 24 hr. day/night
    Monday - Off 24 hr. day/night
    Tuesday - schedule repeats

Great schedule, but I NEVER know what calendar day it is

I am in the process of developing an app that will add any shift pattern to the calendar. Thank you all for inspiring me. I will need testers when I get to that point. I will keep everyone here apprised of how it is coming.

    PS
Damien thank you for your service. My son is an F-16 Crew Chief.

    Monkey,

Please let me know, which app, your phone model, what carrier you use. PM me with that information or use the email link on the app page in the market.

    Default App Update

    FYI

24/48 and 24/72 shifts are now supported within the app. I rewrote the time logic so now it is no longer 30 shifts for 3 months, it is just 3 months. However many shifts it takes to fill that time.

Pretty major code clean up and bug fixes also. Fixed a bug that would not add shifts to calendar with the default settings.

Hope this helps someone and their family. Merry Christmas

Shift Adder Platinum. I have added a lot of fixes learned from the other shift apps. This app uses letters to pattern your shift.

    Examples:

    3 days, 3 nights, 4 off = DDDNNNOOOO
    2 days on 4 off(48/96) = WWOOOO
    24 on, 24 on call, 48 off = WCOO

Try it out and give me some feedback. I still need an HTC and Samsung to test before I release the paid version with 3,6,and 12 month additions.

    Default Beta Testers

Anyone who downloads and tests the free version of the app will have first shot at the full version when it is released.

When the full version is released on the market it will be 99 cents for 24 hours. Then it will go to 1.99. This is to allow the beta testers to get the full version for 99 cents.

To be notified as soon as the full version goes live please send the following information to me at ddenton@goatpenapps.com:

    1. Phone model and service provider (i.e Motorola Droid, Verizon)
    2. Shift Pattern tested (ie DDDNNNOOO) and whether it worked as expected.
    3. General comments about interface and feel.
    4. Email address to send notification to.

Thanks for all your help and support.
