NFPA 1851 is the care and maintenance manual for PPE thats where you will find it.
We just checked this and found (5) years on helmets. As far as Turnout Jackets/Pants goes, my understanding is (10) years.
Ten years on all PPE Helmets included
Yeah, sorry about that..... Had my head up a dark, stinky place when I typed it. (10) years is the correct answer.
10 years is bull**** for lids...my NY'er has been on my head for 17 years and I have no plans of giving it up!
