Pack those pockets full. You have way too much free space.

To quote someone can't remember who. ''You can tell how new an emt is by the amount of stuff he has in his pockets or on his belt the more stuff the newer he is.''

I know people that carry around and entire BLS jump bag between all their pockets. And then take a bag in with them. WHY.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

Same things I have in my pockets off duty and shears. I hate the shears. I think they look dumb, but it is required.

I carry absolutely nothing special in my pants for work. Just the norm, Pager on my belt, wallet, keys, pen, knife, smokes and a lighter.
I have a radio that I throw on when we get a call. That's in a leather case with a strap hanging next to the ambulance.
Gloves are on the ambulance. Trauma Shears are in the bag. As far as EMS is concerned, lighter pockets are more important to me. (Talk about T.O.G., and my pockets are loaded though)

A pen, O2 wrench and shears in a cargo pocket(they're always missing on the ambo), spare set of gloves, Spyderco and my pager/radio. Can't see needing anything else that isn't in the jump bag.
