Hey all,
Simple idea here. I like reading books having to do with the fire service, as I am sure most of you are as well. Just looking for some more.

By the way all really good reads. Firefighters and the fire inside are all a collection of stories from americas firefighters but firefighters was published in 1988 and i think the fire inside was 1996 so it kind of gives a young pup like myself a glimpse of the glory years. Rescue men was a neat family history of the kenney clan from the boston fd. Will send anybody authors and more info per request. but like i said, i would like any ideas if anybody has something they know of. Thanks guys.

With the recent loss of FF Davies and the anniversary of the W6, I decided to buy it as it not in my local library. My god what a read. I was left speechless. Gonzo, I now see why the post on the disgust, even though you rescinded the comments. I can't imagine what the sting of that date must be like.

Nothing else to say. Try buying it if you all haven't read it. God bless the W.F.D. And keep them in your thoughts tomorrow.

If you like fire investigation, try "Blaze" by Nicholas Faith.

He's English, so some of the terminology is funky to an American, but the content and the technical discussions of the investgations, as well as human behavior in fire situations, is excellent.

Totally agree and unfortunately very timely. Maybe buy two because once you pass it around everyone wants to read it and you'll never see it again. Be safe.

Dave Houseal's two books; "We can see it from the bridge" and "We've got them on point". Dave is a legendary story teller, and he now volunteers a lot of time in the Fire Museum in Harrisburg, PA. If you ever get a chance stop by, hopefully you'll catch Dave.

I'll second many books already mentioned. Anything by Don Whitney (Loo, Blackened Shield...) are great. And Nick Brunicini's "B-shifter" will leave you in stitches. "When I was little, I wanted to grow up and be a Chevy truck..."

Fire on the mountain is a great book. I am reading the one advertised on this webpage, WTC: In their own words and am really enjoying it.
