Happy new year, you jackwagons!
"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

No runs yet.
Let's hope it continues that way after the parties let out and the bars empty.
Good thing it rained here today as it sounds like I'm at Bastonge with all the artillery ... Ooops, fireworks going off in the neighborhood. Without the rain, we would be running brush fire calls.
These southerners love their damn fireworks. Jackwagons.
Even though I disagree with many of you over just about everything just about all the time, ..... have a wonderful New Year.

2011...
Damn, another year in the can.I am now a past chief and the views, opinions, and comments are mine and mine alone. I do not speak for any department or in any official capacity. Although, they would be smart to listen to me.
"The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on the list."
"When tempted to fight fire with fire, remember that the Fire Department usually uses water."

Must be nice, we get screwed. There's no such thing as overtime in the military. Those 10-12 hour days get mighty friggin' old after a while of no compensation for it. Not to mention when we take leave, we have to use leave days even on the weekends, when we don't usually work. I can't wait to have a nromal job again. One where I get paid overtime to compensate for hours worked over, and where I use vacation time for only the days I work on, not the days I'm off too. The crap recruiters "forget" to tell you, haha. Don't get me wrong, I love my country, and I love my Corps, it's just not a career for me. I miss bein a firefighter, that job, life, is the sheit!

SERIOUSLY, how can you all be so glib and happy? Don't you realize we are growing ever closer to the end of the world? 12/21/2012?

Happy New Year my Brothers and Sisters. I don't always agree with you but I wish you all a safe New Year. Let's hope it is filled with Happiness, Love, Peace, Prosperity, and Safety.“The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live.” Leo F. Buscaglia
