    Poudreguy,
Now that applications are open for submittal, I noticed they had a study guide they recommended. Were there any in addition to the TPM that you would recommend?

And would you recommend purchasing the practice test or is the format pretty standard?

    Default Poudre Application

We understand if some applicants do not have five prior employers and we are fine with them filling out what they have. We also know there are people out there with over five employers and we do not need to read about every job someone has had. Just be as detailed and accurate with what you have. If you have over five employers, general rule of thumb is you fill out your application with most to least recent.

    Default Poudre Study Guide

As far as the questions regarding the study guide, the questions are verbatim from the study guide. The written test is actually administered and graded by a third party company. Speaking from experience when I took it, there will be no question on the test that is not found in the booklet (that includes picture captions). So yes, if you want a fair shot, you must purchase the study guide.

I applied yesterday for the test. I will be flying out from Boston. Can you tell me if veterans and residents get points/preference or is it based on how you score on the written, CPAT, etc?

bbell1977- The Poudre Fire Authority does not issue points / preference points for any reason. We want a level playing ground for everyone.
