Need some help with geting some of the certs that Sallyport and KBR ask to work as a FIREFIGHTER. I have Fire1&2, EMT, EVOC, and in last sem of Paramedic school. Also have almost 3yrs exp on an FD. All in Florida. Any info will help getting "Airport Firefighter, Hazardous Material Awareness, Hazardous Material Operations, Telecommunicator I and II". THANK YOU!

Go to Alabama Fire College for a 1 week class in ARFF. Get your certs converted over to PROBOARD. I know others will comment so that is my .02.

Don't hold your breath on SallyPort, they are so backed up right now. Also Iraq wants all american troops out of there by the end of 2011, So who knows what will happen then. But one thing you need to do to if you get a chance is to get your passport if you don't already have one. But anyways Good luck man! you will make some killer money

If you take an ARFF class make sure it is an ACCREDITED class. IE: ProBoard/IFSAC/DOD. The new 2010 standard NFPA 1003. This is the IFSTA 5th edition. Don't make the mistake of taking just an FAA class. You will need the 1003 accredited cert to fight fire overseas. I would recomend the TEEX class in College Station Texas. It's pretty good.
