    how do you know for a fact? Do you have access to inside info? Do share....that would be awesome if there was still a chance with 6/7....I sure as hell hope so.

    The invite to the physical agility test said it right on there "they combine the written and PAT scores to determine who moves on to the oral." C'mon people pay more attention to the instructions and detail!

    Also last hiring period there was people who only scored 4/10 on the physical that moved on to the Chief's interview, so I'm sure if you scored well on the written a 6/7 will get ya to the oral.

    Egressone i dont think you understand my question. I said HOW do they grade the written. That was my only question. I think everyone understands that they combine the scores to get an overall score...attention to detail. And yes a friend of mine got a 6/7 on the physical and made it to the chiefs interview. He didn't get the job but none the less made it pretty far.

    Firechicken....I wasn't directly replying to your post, no need to jump guns . Also there are many other threads in regards to how they score this type of written. From what I understand it is primarily scored from a template of the department and how your personality will "fit best."

    When do they start tiering you for interviews? Before the oral board, or before the Chief's interview? 6/7 with 36 on search, 28 on rescue, 27 pike reps and 21 on the hose drag...all ruined by 5 extra seconds on the sledge because they wern't registering. I'd hate to lose out on my dream because of a handful of seconds when I killed the rest of the test. I think the written part was good for me so fingers crossed...

    Would hope not, after the written results, the rest are all small envelopes. The only reason there is a big envelope after the written is because it contains info about the PAT.

    I was one of the candidates with a 6/7 on the physical agility, whom has a scheduled panel interview later this month.

    I was told they try to cut out half of the pool at each step.

    Well that can't be true, because they started with 1698 at the written and cut it well under 400 for the physical...

    Looks like they aren't going to be hiring this year. I just received a letter that they now are postponing the Chief's interview. Looks as if my original thoughts of a fast moving process were wrong.

    I think it's just postponed because of the budget crisis. They need to have a better idea of what their needs will be before they start hiring.
