Look dude I have really thick skin but you don't know me from anybody so don't act like you do, I am grown damn man that does very well for myself and my family and I am just simply new to this field and asked what I thought was a valid question. I work in the oilfield as my real job and cannot even start to explain the amount of crazy slang that is involved in it. Both fields are deeply rooted in history and sayings from the old days are regularly used. I hear people at my dept (including probies) use it all the time and don't want to be one of those idiots that has no idea where this use of certain language came from.

And for the record, Ill bet what ever you like that I would surpass you in ANY use of tools that are aboard a pumper.

K thanks have a nice day.

    Talking And.........

gb1k, Welcome!!.......... Busting on someone good naturedly around here is the norm. And, it looks like you'll be one of the crew. To answer your question, we don't use the "'s" here. If I'm at 19 for the shift, I'm at 19. That's all........ BUT, I have heard guys from New England and the Midwest use it........ And, since you're located at the Source, can you do something to lower Gasoline prices???......... Thanks.

lol. You're new and you think because you can pull some handles and watch your pressure that you're better than an engineer at a busy company? You think because you worked a few construction tools you can out do my year in the projects as a truckie?
    Don't make yourself look worse.

And being I'm from south Louisiana and worked both off shore AND the pipeline, I can tell you that your oversized sump-pumps do not require the skill that comes with pumping an engine. Your mechanized version of the oilfield is not equal to the knuckle busting skills this art requires. I know, I've done both.

Please, calm yourself down and think before you speak.

I'd rather have the name Richard Holder than Richard Sucker.
