EMS FIREFIGHTER – Fire & EMS Department – Salary Range: $37,080 – $63,643.
The City of Colonial Heights is accepting applications for EMS Firefighter.
Duties: Provides advanced emergency medical care and transportation, performs protective service work in fire suppression, drives fire engines and ambulances, develops and presents public education materials, and performs routine maintenance on equipment and station.
Minimum Requirements: Requires high school diploma or equivalent; current EMT-B certification; 1-year of EMS experience; valid VA driver's license prior to employment; and successfully pass all phases of our fire selection process, which will include a written examination, physical ability test, background investigation, medical and drug screening.
Prefer current Intermediate or Paramedic certification, VDFP Fire Fighter II, Hazardous Materials - Operations Level, Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC) Level III, and formal recruit academy completion. Successful candidates will be required to maintain all Fire and ALS (Intermediate or Paramedic) certifications throughout employment.
City of Colonial Heights employment application and supplemental worksheet may be obtained from and must be submitted to the Human Resources Department, P.O. Box 3401, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011.

any idea how many there trying to hire? I know its not a Big department knew a guy who worked there acouple years ago
