I ran my blue dome style dash light for awhile. Worked at night, but one day I got stuck behind an older man doing about 10-15mph all the way to the hall. He glanced back a few times but never moved over. So I finally bought a 15" interior bar and 4 small grille lights with a 3 flash pattern box, I spent about $45 all together. Was going to a MVA with injuries in broad day light last weekend and had no problem with people moving. SOME people do go a bit overboard with their lights. But I do not see the hurt in getting something that can be seen easier in the day time. I don't use them late at night when there isn't much traffic out, usually just the day/evening calls.

They are just ebay specials, I made sure to go with a US seller because some of the hong kong sellers send non working items and it is more hassle to send them back than what you spent. $20 shipped got me 6- 3 led bars and the strobe box. $25 got me 2 15" 54 led bars with suction cups. What I did was use 4 of the 6 small LEDS in the grille and put the interior bars on the other ports of the strobe box to make them all work with the box. I believe the seller was j-gordon or something like that, I can get you a link if you want..here is a short video of them. I took a gamble with the cheap grilles, didn't think they would be very bright, but I was impressed with them. so far have been through alot of rain/snow and are still going strong.

Work good during the day. Friday afternoon I was heading into sunlight for a 2nd alarm warehouse fire..I was already behind about 5 minutes because I had to shut everything down at work early to leave, and was already about 6 minutes from the hall. Had 2 people pull over, then got stuck behind someone in a van who looked at me like he wasn't sure if he should pull over or not. I have a feeling the only thing that would have helped me then was a siren though, and we are not allowed to run sirens.

Looks good. Very low profile, noticeable when it needs to be, and looks like it's not too noticeable otherwise.

lol..good thread man..and I'm sure this is the same anywhere you go..always a competition..Not sure who said it earlier but I agree with the whole..conserverative,clean, LED look..I like to have lights sure, but lets keep it clean and as un-noticeable as possible in my mind. I no longer run lights as I live 2 blocks from the station, but I will be the first to admit, when I lived across town, I had a good little setup, but I also had a decent main intersection to get thru..soooo I guess its whatever you need for your town.
