I have been out of the fire service for 11 years and want to get back into it. What departments around the Orlando area, if any will hire an experienced civilian providing I go to the academy for certification? Also what about financing for the academy? Any help would be appreciated.

Very few in FL are hiring. You have to have Florida certifications.
Look elsewhere other than Florida and also in the Hiring thread in this forum:

What he said ^^
There are VERY few jobs available anywhere in Florida especially the bigger cities. I tested for Orlando Fire Depts 2011 written yesterday. There were around 2000 people there testing.
Experience does not mean jack. Its how well you test. And you do need Florida certs.
