I am looking for some suggestions on building a training prop to used for roof vent ops. Any ideas or pictures would be great.

There are several good props here and here, as well. The Prop Shop truckman prop is one that handles ventilation and some other truckie skills.

If you have some guys that are good with construction, you can take them to another level. I know of one department that built roof off the side of their training tower and put a couple of slide-out frames for OSB where they can do ventilation work. They recently enclosed it and took a schematic they found somewhere and built a forcible entry door into it. Inside has a Denver Drill space and some other search-related areas.

You're only limited by imagination and funding. If you can build it yourself and can get some donated materials, you're a step closer.
