    Default Laws regarding gyms in the firehouse

    Does anyone know if there are any laws in regards to gyms in the firehouse, specifically in NYS? I keep hearing that there needs to be a personal trainer on site to use the equipment. Is this true?

    My FD in NYS has had a workout room for 25-30 years and we have never had a PT. This is the 1st I have ever heard about the possibility of needing one. Only about 5% of the membership use the equipment. Besides what would having a PT do for us? Health clubs don't spend much if any time with you when you 1st join.

    I have NOT heard of anything like that in NYS. You can double check with OFPC.......

    never heard of such an issue having taught the PFT class and talking to FF's from all over the country

    Thank you very much for the information. I have also been to a few other firehouses in NYS that have gyms and none have had a PT. Thanks again.
