I'm going with the act of God thing.
Actually the same thing happened Super Bowl Sunday 2 years ago on the same street two blocks up while responding to...a water leak. Pics from previous collapse. First was soon after going in, second a few hours later as street collapsed more.

I remember last year when ladder 8 ran over the sink hole, United crane was called in with a 600 ton mobile crane to lift it out. Probably after paying the bill for that they opted for 2 tow trucks this time haha. Len sent you a PM
