10 Favorite Songs
-

Toughest question ever on this forum. You could subsitute many other songs from these artists. Way too hard to rank them....
One - Metallica
Synchronicity II - Police
Bad - U2
Fortress Around Your Heart - Sting
Born to Run - Bruce
Allentown - Billy Joel
He Stopped Loving Her Today - George Jones
Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash
Georgia Rain - Trisha Yearwood
4th of July - Shooter Jennings
If you disected my Ipod you'd find mostly country, but thats a relatively new thing for me...I am now a past chief and the views, opinions, and comments are mine and mine alone. I do not speak for any department or in any official capacity. Although, they would be smart to listen to me.
"The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on the list."
"When tempted to fight fire with fire, remember that the Fire Department usually uses water."

2: Wish you were here: Pink Floyd
3: Rock you like a Hurricane: Scorpions
4: Highway to Hell: AC/DC
5: Rainbow in the Dark: Ronny James Dio
6: Brick House: Commodores
7: Turn the Page: Metallica (remake)
8: Dust in the Wind: Kansas
9: Amazing Grace: ???
10: National Anthem/Marine Corps Hyme
FM1I'm the one Fire and Rescue calls, when they need to be Rescued.

And...........
1. You Touched Me - Jimmy Murphy
2. Cigarettes and Whiskey - Levi Mullen
3. The Home You're Tearing Down - Kimberly Murray
4. Born 50 years too Late - Joey Allcorn
5. Just Someone I used to Know - Amber Digby
6. Blue Darlin' - Leona Williams
7. After the Fire is Gone - Amber Digby & Justin Trevino

All Country, and except for #10, all from West Texas, where "Old Style" Country lives on. I really like this Music and the People who play it. The local folks here who get together every Saturday night for a "Pickin" session are really into this as well.
To give you an idea of how we feel, here's a Chorus from J.B.Beverly's "Dark Bar and a Jukebox"
"Give me a Dark Bar and a Juke Box
Oh burn that Radio
Toby just don't cut it
Give me Haggard, Give me Coe
And I'm tired of watching Nashville
and it's Washed up Fashion Show
'Cause you won't find no Country
On Country Radio......"Last edited by hwoods; 02-07-2011 at 12:04 AM.

I'd have a hard time limiting myself to 10 favorite bands, let alone songs. But these are the first ten favorites to jump right out at me, in no particular order:
1. Badlands - Bruce
2. Cult of Personality - Living Colour
3. Enter Sandman - Metallica
4. Friends in Low Places - Garth
5. Back in Black - AC/DC
6. Humans Being - Van Halen
7. The Rising - Bruce
8. The Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels
9. Moondance - Van Morrison
10. Beer for My Horses - Toby Keith w/ Willie Nelson
and as I look over the list, it's not so much these songs, but the "soundtrack of my life" they represent that is my favorite...Opinions expressed are mine alone, and do not necessarily reflect those of the Philadelphia Fire Department and/or IAFF Local 22.

Man, How can I limit this to ten? lol. This won't even be my all time top ten, this is just what's gonna come to mind right now.
Don't Stop Believing-Journey
Spacebound-Eminem
Awake and Alive-Skillet
Back in Black-AC/DC
Tuesday's Gone-Lynard Skynard
Wonderwall-Oasis
Hotel California- The Eagles
Piano Man-Billy Joel
Half-Truism- The Offspring
Lost for Words-Pink Floyd
After typing this up, I'm realizing this is definitely NOT my top ten all time favorites, but more of a sampling of what I listen to. I could go on and on and on. I absolutely love music.
I go on random kicks of an artist. So depending on the week my top ten changes. At the moment I'm on an Eminem kick, couple days ago I was on Pink Floyd and that's all I listened to, week before it was We Are Scientists. Top tens are incredibly difficult lol.
