I just received my email as well. I was ranked 20 with a score of 83.

I called HR and the woman confirmed it is bands not actual ranks.

Would you guys mind sharing how you scored to get a perspective?

She also said they would send out invitations for the PAT in the next couple of weeks.

Oh, absolutely! I'm in a couple other processes, where I'm more confident about my tests and am planning the next trips for written test. I'm still very early in my testing career, so no worries yet, but Tacoma would have been nice!

I scored an 85% and am in the 18th group. I dont think the groups have a specific number of people in them. If you got an 85% you should be ranked 18 as well with everyone else who scored the same. There could be a lot of people who ranked number 1. I have taken the physical though and it's a good one.

I find it interesting that the e-mails say very specifically "Your rank on the eligibility list is ___", and then candidates are finding out second-hand that in reality they are nowhere even close to that number. There has never been any notification from TFD to candidates about them being placed in "bands" rather than ranked individually, so the way the e-mails are worded are unintentionally getting a lot of people's hopes up. It's kinda frustrating to think that there are a lot of candidates out there celebrating right now, not knowing they are actually much lower on the list than what the e-mail indicates.

Physical comes before any interviews. And it's hard telling, depends on their needs - list is good for three years so it may be a couple years before hearing anything depending on list placement.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread I passed the written in the 8th band. I am a little concerned about the background check because I had a couple speeding tickets a few years ago and I had a credit card sent to collections when I was in college doing my undergrad. That's it really. I have reasonable explainations for the credit card and it is now paid off. Is there anybody from TFD here that knows how stringent the dept. is about these kind of things? I understand the whole "there will be a hundred others with perfect records" argument but I also have some credentials that very few others have. Just trying to figure out how worried I should be about the background investigation. Thanks
