I did not attend the practices when I went through.

But it is an excellent opportunity to meet the people who will ultimately decide to hire you or not. And for ALOT of people, they need to see the cours to really grasp that it's harder than the CPAT!

As for how important it is, that's up to you.

    Good Luck!
Thanks for the information flipper, much appreciated throughout this process.

I'm sure going into an oral board and having to explain that my employment history ended in June after getting fired for non-attendance and that I promptly had to get on state assistance wouldn't do me much good in getting hired. LOL!

Do you volunteer for King 44?

Someone was at the PAT practice, and they were told about 100-200 people will be invited to the actual PAT, and that those people will be the ones going on to the orals; they're only inviting people to the PAT if they want to see them at the oral. So they will be starting the background stuff very soon, if not already. Must have good background to get invite.
Roughly ranks 1-20(?), maybe 1-15(?) Hard to tell because no one really knows how many are in each rank.

Testing looks like PAT in Mid July, Orals in August, hiring in Sept.
    About 16-20 people.

So someone said, could be a crazy person though.

    Good Luck

I was there yesterday and TFD gave no indications on how many they would invite to the PAT and all they said was that they had 18 people retiring this month and the process was going to be fast. TFD also stated that they plan on having multiple acadmeys from this list and it is a 2 year list that could possibly be extended to 3 years at the Cheifs discression

I would like to send a huge thanks to the TFD and the firefighters that were at the Practice PAT for doing it and for all the help.....

How did you feel about the PAT? A lot of people taking up the opportunity to check it out?

PAT is challenging but if you just bear down you will be fine. There were about 100 people on sunday and from what i hear there were more than 100 on saturday. I know im going to go again on the 26th.... but it is a tough PAT.

Correct..... that is why you have to pay close attention to the hearsay and rumors.

Yup, you just can't believe the rumors.
I heard there were 111 people there on Sat, and 89 on Sun, maybe a couple late stragglers Sun.
    So I heard.

I recieved one as well and all my testing partners did as well. remember to print it out twice and use one as an informational one that you can screw up on and then spend a good amount of time and make it look good on the second one.

    Good luck everybody.......

    Default Practice pat location

I really need some help, I left my invite letter for the practice pat at work. Would anyone be generous enough to post the address where the practice pat is located tomorrow morning and what to wear? I know it's last minute but it would be more than appreciated. Thank you!

Everyone get there backgrounds in on time? Anyone know how strict they are on those? I have some speeding tickets from 5 years ago but nothing since then and a medical bill that went to collections but has been paid 6 years ago. Just wondering.

Flipper would know better, but I heard TFD isn't super strict on background stuff, as long as you're honest.

Has anybody else heard? My status on governmentjobs still says "Passed test, on list, will contact for PAT"...nothing about scheduling or dates or anything yet.

No I haven't heard anything yet. I'm hoping I didn't get bumped for a couple speeding tickets I had a few years back. I had a decent written score (band 8) so I was thinking I would at least go to the PAT as long as my background checks out.

I wonder if they're postponing testing or if the people who moved on know already or what. If what somebody else said was accurate, July 11th is literally right around the corner.
