Family of 9 safe after Lehi blaze

Nine people escaped safely from a house fire in Lehi late Friday night.

Lehi fire officials said the house was not a total loss, though there was extensive smoke and fire damage. No one was injured in the blaze.

Nine extended family members escaped the blaze, including three women, two men and four children ages 3 to 12. Neither the names of the victims nor the cause of the fire was immediately released. The fire happened near 7600 North and 8000 West in Lehi.

American Red Cross officials said they provided food, shelter and comfort kits for the family members, who found other places to spend the night.
