Rest in peace.
My Father who was in the 28th Division in France during World War 1 died back in 1974.
Another eyewitness to history lost to us.
Rest in Peace,Corporal Buckles.
He was one of many who made this country great.
Thank You, Corporal Buckles. Now, Rest in Peace. We OWE you that much.
My Grandfather was at my Marine Corps Boot Camp Graduation. Told me I was the Black Sheep of both families. He said it was about time someone became a Marine. He served in WWI, and tried to again with WWII, but was too old. He passed away in 1984.
Within the next 40 years, if I/we live that long. We'll see the passing of great warriors of 2 World Wars. I thank them almost everyday, for their courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.
At ease, soldier. Let's remember that a day will come when every war's last veteran will die, and let's resolve to honor them long before that.
