    Default Federal Firefighting Schedule

Can someone in the federal system explain how a 48/48 schedule with a six day break every four weeks works??

I don't know if this question belongs in this section but I know a local department works 48 hours on and then 48 hours off. They have six days off at the end of their pay period which they call a "kelly". Don't know if it helps but sounds similar.

A little googling will help you out, but here's what I found that is pretty close. Look at post #4; http://www.firehouse.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24574 (48 on 48 off Work Schedule )
