Not really.
The IAFF doesn't organize part-timers, short-sighted IMO, but there are unions that do.
Teamsters are one.

In the long run, in this political climate, the IAFF will discover that passing these firefighters over is a horrendous mistake. The fact is this, a larger base of UNION members is a STRONGER political force.
Apparently it is "smarter" to allow another Union to organize those firefighters because they are not full timers than it is to realize that we are ALL firefighters in different circumstances.“The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live.” Leo F. Buscaglia

What would you suggest doing? I would say 80% want to be union. We are only making 9 dollars an hour working 36 hrs a week. Expecting alot out of us and dont get me wrong i do this because my love and passion for it but it would be nice to be rewarded a little more. Drivers, officers, paramedics, and emt's recieve same amount hourly. Just was curious to our options its draining people to work full time 40 + and parttime 36 hrs. I own my own buisness so i have a flexible schedule and can do my work over the phone.
