About LinkBacksDoes anyone have any special formulas for their drip torches?
I have heard just diesel and some said a diesel/kerosene mix.
A little experience using one would help us make this easier.

Mostly gas and leftover gas mix. I don't mix in diesel or kerosene. If anything, diesel.

When the fuel starts to sizzle and really shoot out of the torch back the Gasoline down, a touch and that's just perfect.
Or about 1/3 diesel and 2/3 Gas.Courage, Being Scared to Death and Saddling Up anyways.

We run the same mixture that Bushwhacker said 3:1 Diesel to Gas Mix. Our local Forests run the same mixture so replenishing our Torches and supplies are easy in Base Camp.

officially 4:1 Diesel to gasoline mix, though in practice I've found a 3:1 mix works a bit better for most any sort of firing operation

Well, Yesterday I put the mixtures to the test.
I have never used a drip torch before. I actually like it very much. I just have to be careful I don't drop some of it on myself. LOL
I found that three to one burned best.
***I have another question ask about the torch. Is keeping the nipple clean a constant issue or is it probably because it was new?
BTW Thanks for the responses. Just proves that when you have a fire issue, no matter what it is, come to firehouse.com

Was the fuel not streaming properly? Did you check your air valve? Sometimes the fuel screen gets gummed up. And sometimes they just don't flow well. I've noticed some newer drip torches pouring poorly before and have just swapped the whole spout top. Really sometimes they are just buggery.
