Hi I do not know if this is the right place but I will hope someone can help me. I have just moved the State of Texas and I have been trying to see how to get my Ohio fire card and Ohio ems card switched over to Texas. Does anyone how Texas does their fire levels cause in Ohio 240 hours is Level II and is know as a career firefighter. Anyone that can help me out thanks

If you have IFSAC certs(seals) from OH ten its just an application and fee. If not you an possibly challenge the exam and practicals otherwise you'll have to go through another academy. When i came to TX it had been 10 years since I got my FF2 in OH and I had no IFSAC so I went through fire academy again. As for EMS you need national registry for straight reciprocity.

Best advice call the commission direct
http://www.tcfp.state.tx.us/standards/transferring.asp
You also may want to call back and confirm what you were told

What part of tx are you in

You can probably challenge national registry test to get it back.

they guys at TCFP are super helpful and will answer your questions quickly. just contact the certifications dept. tell them what you have, what you've done and that you need the most efficient way to get your certs completed.
