Odds are that once he completed FF1 & 2 training he is qualified to go interior, hence the black helmet.

Maybe the department helmet regulations were too buyist to white helmets.

Damn Bull. Thanks for catching that I think I had a slight TIA or something haha. I meant to say All helmets regardless of color turn black if you WEAR them long enough
