Is Columbus fire just hiring 35 recruits in 2012. I scored in the lower 80 band even tho I took the fire prep course and answered the foam questions exactly how they described in the course as well as scored a 95% on the written test. Good luck to everyone in the process and let us know how it goes.

Had the polygraph today. Thought it went really well. Just going to be waiting on the confirmation letter to be able to move on (hopefully) and then the next step, which I think is the home interview and the rest of the background investigation. Good luck to everybody coming up with the polys or any other stage.

1001- from what they told me in the pre-polygraph, there is just one class of 35 this year, starting in December.

Franel- I'm assuming you aren't allowed to talk about any details from the polygraph?

Wow that is great news about december. I had initially thought June may be a start date, but then heard that fell through and haven't heard anything since.

I wish I could give more information about the lie detector than just the usual cliche stuff! It was real thorough, but seemed to move quicker than I thought it would. I won't feel fully relieved, though, until I get the confirmation letter for the next step. Who knows what could happen.

Got the call today to set up my home visit! I am so excited to still be moving forward. Where is everyone else in the process? I heard a few guys may have already had their oral boards.

Congrats on moving to the next step franel29.. I just scheduled my poly. I'm in the 70s on the list. Does anyone know how many people they have been dropping from the list in backgrounds? Or how far down the list they might get for the first academy?

    I got a question for you 777?

You scored in the 70's and your scheduling your poly? I also scored in the low 70's on my FOAM. Are they going down that far into the FOAM list? Let me know...Thanks!

First you have the home visit (which is after the polygraph), and then you have the oral board. Good Luck

Thank you. Good luck to you too! I got a 98 on the FOAM. Had my poly a couple weeks ago, just waiting to hear back from that now.

Anyone know if the stress test is done with the 40 lb weight vest? I am assuming it is. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I have been trying to get ready in case I get to it. The treadmill at the gym only goes up to a 15 incline, so I am worried it is no where close the higher slopes the test calls for. I keep hearing it is a piece of hell.

Just found this about the stress test. This'll be fun...
But, it doesn't look like we're going to have a weighted vest on. They use the same stress test for police and fire and I think we all know the cops may have a problem with the weighted vests... haha just kidding.

Without a weight vest, huh? I thought I heard it was included-wooh! that sure takes a load off (about 40 lbs worth)
