    I've seen guys like that at HamFests. Nothing funnier than seeing a guy with 3 and 4 antennas clipped to the brim of a hard hat walking around thinking that everyone else thinks he's clever.

    Wait - I think we've got one of those back in a corner of the storeroom....

    As an aside, Conrail used a portable radio for a while that had as it's power source a couple of items readily found on the railroad - 6V lantern batteries.

    Not exactly something you could stick in your pocket...

    haha seen a guy at the Huntsville hamfest like that back in August...
    The thing is, he ACTUALLY thought that he looked

    I guess The next craze will be scannerers with quad antennas strapped to their backs

    That's like some of the yahoos and hooples that go to fire shows.. they are 100's of miles from their FD's turf wearing 2+ portable radios and the "I fight what you fear/Iwalk where the devil dances" T-shirt.
