Ya, for sure. I bumped into a guy from a nearby dept that over all three combined scores (he did better than me on the PAT, but not as good as me on the written) he was only a point higher than me ovarall and got a rank of 30 or something.

    And it's in!

    Rank 13!
85.78 on the oral (combined 276.78)
No anticipated hiring at this time so that is a let down...hopefully things change.

Just got it, combined total score of 268.7 and 64th on the list, not good but not bad.

Nice job, ljm! They'll probably know around October. See here: http://westmetrofire.org/index.aspx?NID=661. It has to do with budgeting.

Second the congrats LJM. I'd say that's almost a guarantee. I got 44th - 83.39 oral. SO glad I re-took the PAT for an extra 8 points!

Nice job, Shafster and 98Tacoma. Scores must have been exceptionally tight.

Nice job eveyone. Me.... not so hot but I'm just glad I'm on the list to be honest. I'm at 47 so at least I'm consistant. Here's hoping they get 2 good sized academies.

LJM great job dude. Should be in great position for an academy that they put on.

Tacoma, glad you did the retest too. You would of been kicking yourself if you skipped it.

So I guess now we wait some more...

I am with YJ on this lets get a few good sized academies out of this list and get some folks on the list hired elsewhere. Maybe that way my rank of 41 will come up next year...

I know that they have a very stringent background process so that might help too. This is taxing my memory from a while back but I want to say that for their academy in '09 of 14 they went into the low thirties.

I would have loved to score better this year but a lot can happen in 2 years.

looks like everybody here got in the top 1/3, hopefully we all get picked off this list!
YJ, reading through your PMs thanks for all the information brother!

Fingers crossed for some retirements and a need for new recruits at WMF!

Good job YJ! Maybe we'll be in the same academy and LJM will be telling us to clean toilets.

Some of us including me were bumped down one number due to some sort of database snafu - they probably had a tie and didn't notice it.

Congrats to everyone who made it!

I didn't have the chance to apply to WMFR this year (busy wildland season) and was wondering if any one had any advice for the next time they put a list together (other than lot's of patience)? Hotels to stay at, things to bring, out of state-r advice, etc (NOT looking for questions asked or test cheats).

    Good luck!

It's so far out (next testing will be 2013), I'm not sure what to tell you. From the process I remember after the written test out of state people took the CPAT that same weekend (if you pass the written). Any hotels in Lakewood, west Littleton and Golden will put you close to the facility for testing. Keep in shape and stay sharp on your written test skills.

    Stay safe.

My advice - every single point counts towards the final list. You need to be tops in everything. All the scores from each step is added together, and in the end 1/2 of one point can make a big difference. So make sure you are ready for everything.

Congrats. I've talked to a hand full of guys that got picked up by other places that were ahead of my rank. Good to hear that WM is getting things going again. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress.
