LSU Lays Off Part-Time Instructors
LSU Fire Training announced today that they are laying off all part-time (Adjunct) instructors statewide.
While this will have limted effects at thier 2 campus facilities, who use primarily full-time staff, it will have a tremendous affect on the delivery of outreach training to the rural departments as most of this training is delivered by the adjunct staff.
We will have to see what long-term effects this will have.
There are talks about even deeper budget cuts for the coming fiscal year.Train to fight the fires you fight.

We go through the same worry every year when the NYS legislature is fighting over the budget. The state provides us with training funding in the form of instructor hours - each county gets to decide how to use them. It could mean the difference between a second FF1 or not, or a host of other classes we want and need.Opinions my own. Standard disclaimers apply.
