    Default 2012 AFG Funding

    From thehill.com
"By a 333-87 vote, the House accepted an amendment from Reps. Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) and Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) that would cut upper level management funding at DHS and spend it on firefighter grant programs. Democrats in particular have said the GOP's bill cuts too much from DHS firefighter grants to state and local governments, and the bipartisan amendment would restore $320 million in grant funding."
As I understand, the house bill prior to the amendment would have funded AFG at $200M and SAFER at $150. It's not clear how the additional $320M will be allocated between AFG and SAFER. Regardless, based on this amendment, the total funding for 2012 will only be $670M v. $810M in 2011.

    Anybody have any better information?

    Default

Just received the update from NVFC that yesterday's amendment will increase the 2011 AFG and SAFER programs to $335 each. It should be noted that FP&S is included within AFG so the actual funds available for ops & safety and vehicles will be less than $335.
