    Default Hiring Process Question

I've recently taken a written test for a Fire Dept., and was ranked in the top 60 of applicants they moved on to the CPAT. After passing the CPAT, I've then completed my Personal History Statement.

    Question is:

During the process, will the Fire Dept. only call back the top 10% from the list to continue to the polygraph, or will they test the entire top 60?

They haven't stated any information regarding the next testing phase, so was curious if anyone knew the testing procedures from any personal experience.

    Thanks in advance!

It varies from department to department. It will often depend on things such as: how many applicants there were, what the scoring range was, how many spots they are looking to hire for, etc. Also, the process is inherently a slow one (I'm at the end of the process for a department for which I applied last fall and took the written for in January), so just be patient - best of luck!

Oh I know! Ask the department in question rather than a bunch of knowitalls on the internets

Seriously, send an email and give a quick ask.
So many variables factor in to the decision of how many move on in each phase of a process. Right now I imagine it is a $$$ issue.
