Is anyone using CAD, MDT, or dispatching software from Computer Information Systems (CIS) out of Skokie, IL? We are trying to evaluate the company and see how their software fits into the fire service environment.

FDNY EMS uses MDT. In order to send a unit their assignment, dispatch first raises the unit on the radio, when the unit answers, the call is sent on the units screen and the rest of the call is handled on the MDT.

To give the signal of responding, the EMS unit presses button 63. 88 is onscene, 82 is enroute to hospital, 81 is at hospital, 98 is available, ect.....

For the most part, the only thing said over the radio was dispatch raising the unit for the assignment. The system keeps radio traffic to a minimum, as it should be.

If I remember my tour of Caddo 911 center, their fire department (for sure) is using CAD. They are the busiest metro department in LA, busier than Baton Rouge and New Orleans and it seems to work for them.

I'm asking if anyone is specifically using Computer Information Services out of Skokie, IL for their CAD needs. I'm looking for a couple references on the company. Thanks
