My first (and only one so far in two years) was May 8th. We went to the next town over as mutual aid for a single-story residence. House was a complete loss.

That's exactly why I hate to hear firefighters talking about how they want a fire, or they can't wait for another fire.

Most of us with experience know that the next fire could be very close to home - especially in a small town.

Say what? No after fire, but you let it burn out?? Can't you even write a single sentence that doesn't contradict itself?

Maybe I should have said there was no significant after fire.Of course there were boards here and there smoking, but that was about the extent of it.

No, it was a pipe cleaning facility and all of their methanol, toluene, and such, barrels went up. It did that for an hour and then died down enough to go in and do some work.

Change mine as well to a small kitchen fire today. The owners were able to put the fire out before we got there. We verified that it was out and vented the house to get rid of the smoke. We cleared about an hour later. Thank goodness it was easy for us and very small for the owners.
