Wildfire near Utah reservoir 90 percent contained

Firefighters are reporting 90 percent containment of a wildfire that raced across 186 acres of pinyon, juniper, grass and brush near a reservoir in southwest Utah.

Federal Bureau of Land Management fire spokesman Jordan Ellis said Thursday that no evacuations were ordered, no structures are threatened and no injuries were reported in the Baker wildfire.

Ellis says power lines are no longer threatened.

The fire was reported Wednesday afternoon off Highway 18, south of Baker Reservoir and east of the Washington County town of Veyo. The size of the blaze has been mapped by GPS.

A helicopter and a fire crews from the BLM and other federal agencies, Washington County and volunteers from seven surrounding districts are battling the fire.

Ellis reported the fire was most active toward the east.
