Hello, I was just wondering; is there a NFPA standard for extraction gloves? I was looking at some mechanics gloves and they have pretty much all the same features as many extraction gloves I have seen so I was wondering if I was to get gloves would they HAVE to be specifically extraction gloves. Sorry if this is a over asked question (I searched and didn't find anything) or simply a stupid one.
NFPA 1951: Standard on Protective Ensembles for Technical Rescue Incidents.
There is a bunch of NFPA speak in it. Ch 6.1.3 deals with design requirements and 7.1.3 is performance.
All is B.S. but you asked. Get a pair of leather gloves with reinforced palms from Home Depot. Or spend the money on some Ringers. Mechanics gloves will get you cut with glass or sharp edges.
