    The accomadations are spartan.

    Open common dorm area ... No private rooms. Well actually, no rooms. Just a big room, double decker bunks and a shared bathroom and shower area for the entire dorm. Very much like a military bunkroom.

    They have been trying to get funding to build a new dorm with at least semi-private rooms for severasl years now with no luck.

    I would suspect folks can visit but no privacy to take care of "business". Luckily, there are many hotels in the BR area.

    It's similar to the military boot camp, you are going to be busy and may not have the time for "visit" like you would like.

    Why not have her come to see you and get a motel room away from the academy so you both can visit in more comfort.

    This may be the test of your relationship too. If she can't see you or be with you for four months, both will see how strong you relationship is, or will be, should you both do get married.

    Once you are hired and are at a fire house, most likely you will be away from her for 24 hours. She may come by the fire house to pay a short visit, but that is about it.
