Mtk you were the valedictorian? How much for tutoring services lol.

    Congrats if that's the case.

Anyone post the speech on YouTube yet?

Just be reassigned a new mentor and he said he said he received this email:

I found out that the letters for the mid June run are supposed to reach the candidates one week before the run which takes place on either June 17, 18, 19, or 25th.

    Figured I share the info.

Yea, comment wasn't meant negatively, just rhetorical boredom as I sit here at work.

Can't say I'm surprised, not much FDNY does makes any sense

I just picked up a pair of the hex kneepads (sleeve style) from models today. A little pricey at $25 for the pair, but I'm willing to spend whatever it takes to make the next few months a bit easier. As for socks, I was going to ask the same thing. I wanted to buy a few pairs today but couldn't decide which to look into. I remember Manhattan Medic mentioning smart wool socks, but then saying those may not be the best for the Academy. I figured I would just get high compression socks, but wanted to confirm with some of the guys who went through the Academy if those would be efficient for use in pt, when donned in the bunker gear, and to be used in lieu of changing into formal wear. Any suggestions would be great.

Also, does it matter if you have a brand name or logo on them? The ones I looked at were all black but either had an under armor logo or Nike logo on the top of them. I wasn't sure if that would be acceptable or not.

28 pull ups also seems doable - not for me but for someone. Feel like other classes guys were doing in the 50s. That's like crossfit workout numbers.
Find that youtube pushup cadence and try getting over 60 lol. It's ridiculous. Pull ups are done with form or they don't count. You have to come down to a dead hang arms straight. No one in the other classes did anywhere near 50 lol. The most I've heard was from a DI we had that did 37 when he was in proby school like 7years ago.

Thanks for the info. If this is true, its so weird that they sent out letters on the 2nd and now wait another week or so to send out more. Any one else hear from their mentors?

Top pull up was someone else with 28 and the same guy who did 28 pull ups did 62 situps in 60 sec. The fastest 1.5 was 7:55. To win you have to be well rounded and a freak of nature lol. I'm pretty sure the fitness winner ran sub 8min or close to it.

He ran it in 7:56 haha

No one knows for sure but my guess would be July so your CPAT prep can start in August or September.

Anyone else starting to feel like someone jumped the gun with that first batch of letters being sent out. This gap is killing me.

Being in the 1500's I already kinda knew that this summer academy wasn't really feasible but with everything done I'm already starting a mental calender ticking off the days until run-letters for the Janurary academy are sent out. And once again congrats to all the guys whom just finished and good luck to all those who have received their run-letters and those expecting them.
